Vols Expected to Flip South Carolina Linebacker Commit
By Tucker Harlin
The result of the Third Saturday of October seems to have left a lasting effect on Tennessee’s official visitors.
2026 South Carolina linebacker commitment Rodney Colton Jr. was one of several recruits visiting when the Vols took down the Tide. 247Sports logged a prediction for Colton to flip to the Vols following his visit.

I've decided to put in a prediction for the South Carolina commit to eventually flip to the Volunteers.

Colton is a four star from Newnan, GA.
The Herring brothers both lived in Newnan before moving to Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro. Elijah of course transferred to Memphis in the spring while Caleb is still a part of the program.
While he hasn’t officially announced a decommitment, Colton isn’t the only 2026 linebacker the Vols may or may not have made an impression on last weekend.
Four star Austin Howard from Bartlett, TN decommitted from Mississippi State Tuesday. While there are no linkages between Howard and other schools as possible destinations, it’s worth noting Howard was in Knoxville last weekend.
