VFL Strikes Largest Deal Ever For MLB Pitcher

By Cody McClure

Former Vol Baseball pitcher Garrett Crochet has just inked a massive deal with the Boston Red Sox.

Boston and Crochet agreed to a six-year, $170 million contract extension on Monday.

The deal starts in 2026 and includes an opt-out after 2030, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

This is the LARGEST DEAL EVER in baseball for a pitcher with at least four years of service.

Not bad for a VFL.

Crochet has a 3.29 career ERA and just posted the third-highest strikeout rate by a leftie in a single season in MLB history.

Nice to see one of Tony Vitello’s best getting paid.
