This Trend Indicates Vols Will Make First Final Four This Year
By Cody McClure
Good afternoon. How’s your Monday going?
Mine? It’s alright. Cold, ya know. Hope you’re well.
Anyway, I bring good news. I have noticed a trend.
Now, if you listen to TalkSports, which airs Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and is far and away the best show on Fanrun Radio, you’ll already know that I’m not a big “trends” guy.
(‘96 Bulls!)
But recently I’ve noticed one that has carried over through the last several seasons of Tennessee Basketball.
And this particular model that I’ve observed indicates that the Vols will lose in the Final Four this season.
Losing? That’s not good news, you may be thinking. Sure. But making our first ever Final Four would be tremendous. Even if we did lose the first game.
The trend is simple. I looked back at the past five seasons for UT Basketball.
Check this out:
2019-20 — Missed NCAA Tournament (no tournament because of COVID but we would have missed it)
2020-21 — Lost in the First Round
2021-22 — Lost in the Second Round
2022-23 — Lost in the Sweet 16 (Third Round)
2023-24 — Lost in the Elite 8 (Fourth Round)
2024-25 —
See the trend? It means absolutely nothing but I thought it was cool.
Have a great week.
