The legend is finally hanging it up.

ESPN College Gameday staple Lee Corso is retiring, per ESPN itself.

But not so fast, my friend, he hasn’t made his final appearance just yet.

Corso’s sign-off on the show will be August 30th, just days after his 90th birthday.

“My family and I will be forever indebted for the opportunity to be part of ESPN and College Gameday for nearly 40 years,” Corso said. “I have a treasure of many friends, fond memories and some unusual experiences to take with me into retirement.”

Corso’s appearances on Gameday brought smiles to faces for four decades. A truly inspirational run.

Known for his iconic headgear segment, Corso will retire with a record of 286-144 in 430 selections.

"Lee is one of the most influential and beloved figures in the history of college football,” ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro said.

Sums it up pretty good. Cheers to the GOAT.
