Tennessee Basketball Transfer Tracker: Second Game

By Tucker Harlin

As the college basketball season continued this weekend, each of Tennessee’s four basketball transfers in the last two offseasons took the floor Friday and Saturday.

One in particular pieced together a strong performance on Saturday. Here’s a look at their performances:

B.J. EDWARDS

SMU won against Florida A&M 102-73 on Thursday.

Former Vol B.J. Edwards scored 13 points on 5/7 shooting. In addition to the scoring, Edwards grabbed seven boards and three steals while netting six assists.

He also scored on this crazy reverse layup.

FREDDIE DILIONE V

The Nittany Lions broke the century mark for the second time this season in a 103-54 victory over one-time NCAA tournament Cinderella UMBC.

Freddie Dilione V played the fewest minutes of the starters with just 19.

Dilione netted points in the single digits this time around, scoring six points on a 2/5 effort from the field. Outside of scoring, Dilione logged five rebounds and an assist against the Retrievers.

D.J. JEFFERSON

Longwood is off to a 2-0 start to its season following an 84-66 win against Morgan State Saturday.

The “athlete who plays basketball” known as D.J. Jefferson wasn’t very productive.

Jefferson’s output against Morgan State was similar to that of the opener. He saw the floor for six minutes, making one of four shots while grabbing three rebounds and logging an assist.

TOBE AWAKA

Arizona hammered Old Dominion 102-44 in Tucson.

Tobe Awaka was the brightest star in the Wildcats’ win, earning a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds along with a pair of blocks. He led Arizona in both points and rebounds.

JONAS AIDOO

John Calipari and Arkansas lost 72-67 Baylor Saturday.

Injury has limited Jonas Aidoo’s minutes in this early portion of the season, and that still appeared to be the case in this loss. He missed one shot and grabbed a rebound in 10 minutes of action.
