SEC Announces Kickoff Time for Vols’ Bout with Florida
By Tucker Harlin
The SEC announced kickoff times and broadcast networks for the October 12 football matchups on Monday.
Tennessee officially plays Florida at 7 p.m. on ESPN that weekend. The broadcast crew will be announced the Monday before the game.
Florida at Tennessee is the only SEC game that will air on ESPN on October 12. ABC will broadcast South Carolina at Alabama, Texas vs Oklahoma, and LSU at Ole Miss, SEC Network will carry Mississippi State at Georgia and Vanderbilt at Kentucky, and ESPN2 will air Missouri at UMass at noon on the east coast.

With this announcement, the possibility of Tennessee only playing night games from the first Saturday in September to the third Saturday in November has become a strong one.
The only kickoff times left on Tennessee’s schedule are the game against Alabama the third Saturday of October and the trip to Georgia in November. If the first month of the season is any indicator, the 3:30 slot means far less to ABC/ESPN than it does to CBS, so ABC/ESPN will make efforts to include marquee matchups at noon or night as often as possible.
