Reliving an All-Time VR Moment

By Tucker Harlin

Voluntary Reaction prides itself on its raw, unfiltered, and real emotion from Tennessee fans on Saturday afternoons and nights.

From an army of callers in drunken stupors after Florida losses, to calls from the finest gentlemen’s club in Knoxville, to a man tripping on a cocktail of LSD, shrooms, and cocaine, VR has heard it all.

Or so we thought.

Russell, Bear, and Davey convened for their first VR of the 2024 football season Saturday afternoon following the Vols’ 69-3 win over Chattanooga.

Longtime listener and caller Chris called the show to give his thoughts on the game, but he was loudly interrupted by his wife who told him to “Get off the damn sports radio!!!”

“It doesn’t matter to your family; it’s a loser situation,” his wife continued. “My dad needs your help. I’m so done with you.”

The rant continued on for a few more seconds before his wife eventually shouted, “I’ll take your $2.5 million-” and the call abruptly cut off.

When the slogan “Raw. Unfiltered. Real.” came about, I’m not sure we had angry wives threatening to take $2.5 million away from their husbands in mind.

Nothing screams “FOOTBALL IS BACK” like a post game show incident, so naturally when the tape was released, major outlets jumped all over it.

If you didn’t know it already, moments like these are why VR remains the best post game show in town in our very unbiased opinion.

Be sure to tune around 11 PM next week!
