VFL quarterback Josh Dobbs signed with the New England Patriots on Monday.

Dobbs, a 2017 graduate of Tennessee, played for the Vols from 2013 to 2016.

During his time at UT, Dobbs totaled 7,138 pass yards and 53 touchdowns. He was also prolific in the run game, tacking on 2,160 rush yards and 34 more TDs.

Dobbs bounced around the league after being taken in the fourth round by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2017 NFL Draft.

He had stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, and most recently, the San Francisco 49ers.

A real journeyman.

Dobbs has appeared in 23 games in his NFL career, starting 15 of those. He heads to New England with 3,281 career passing yards and 17 touchdowns.

He’s added 520 yards with his legs, as well as eight more touchdowns.

Dobbs will join VFL Joe Milton in the Patriots quarterback room ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Another Josh VFL, Josh Palmer, is also headed to the AFC East. Palmer will join the Buffalo Bills for the upcoming season.

The Bills signed Palmer to a three-year, $36 million contract yesterday, significantly enhancing their offensive lineup.

Palmer comes from the Los Angeles Chargers, where he had steadily carved out a role as one of the team’s top pass catchers.

He looks to be a major boost to the Bills’ receiver room and a nice new weapon for quarterback Josh Allen.
