Oklahoma Football Look Alikes

By Tucker Harlin

After discussing the topic with the Vol Rumor Mill last week, I decided it would be a good idea to bring out look alikes for each team the Vols play the rest of the way.

Unfortunately, Jackson Arnold doesn’t look he would sing about the events under a bridge downtown the way Devin Kargman did.

But Arnold is not exempt from this list. This isn’t a direct look alike, but he could at the very least be a cousin of Fanrun’s very own William Patteson.

I’m not done with the quarterbacks just yet.

Oklahoma was one of the most prominent landing places for Tennessee transfers amidst the Jeremy Pruitt debacle. Wanya Morris, Eric Gray, and Key Lawrence all became Sooners that offseason. Oklahoma still has a Tennessee in DaJon Terry, who transferred out after 2022.

So I found it fitting that Sooners backup quarterback Casey Thompson looks eerily similar to another one time Vol that transferred out in January of 2021. I’ll give you a hint: his last name gave announcers fits.

While we’re on the subject of former Tennessee players that left for not so green pastures, I couldn’t help but think there were several different players on the Sooners roster that look like they could be members of the Guarantano family.

There are too many for me to choose from, so here’s running back Gabe Sawchuk side by side with JG.

While there isn’t a guy on this roster that looks like Anthony Kiedis, there is one that looks like he wants the black hole sun to come.

That would be backup quarterback Steele Wasel, who looks like Chris Cornell had he chosen a different career path (maybe a spoon man?).

The quarterbacks haven’t been behind a solid center, but it sounds like Branson Hickman could return this week for the Sooners. I’m beginning to question whether or not Hickman is actually the center or if Sid from Toy Story just put on some weight and grew his hair a little bit.

Sid is not the only Pixar character on the Oklahoma roster.

Oklahoma is about as landlocked as a landlocked state can get, but it appears they have a shark in the secondary with Peter Schuh.

Schuh would like to remind everyone that fish are his friends, not food.

This next actor actually starred in a movie about football. Marcus Toji from Little Giants grew up to play offensive line for the Oklahoma Sooners.

Staying in the world of TV and movies, did you know that Sooners defensive lineman Ethan Downs played Dewey Wilkerson in Malcolm in the Middle?

Last but certainly not least, Tony Robbins is known for his ability to encourage others through his motivational speaking. Oklahoma’s defense has the version of Tony Robbins that makes you want crawl up in a little ball and mope.

His name is Caiden Woullard and he plays on the Sooners defensive line.
