Nick Saban Cries Because College Football Isn’t Fair
By Cody McClure
Well, this is rich.
Nick Saban went on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday to complain about how unfair college football is.
For the record, he’s 100 percent right. I’m sure everyone agrees with him. I do, too.
But this is the same guy who dominated the sport for years due in part to spending the most money on players, “allegedly.”
Everybody knows college football has always been a big business. There’s always been money under the table. It’s just out in front of our eyes now.
Anyway, here’s what he said:
“People out there need to know this model is unsustainable … It’s not good for players.
“Players need to get compensated, no doubt. But it has to be done in a way where … in some kind of way … [you] have competitive balance, you know, and that every school has the same thing.”
Saban added, “One school can’t spend $30 million for players while another school’s spending $3 million …
“I mean, people in Congress – I don’t care who has to get off their butt and do something.”
Do you agree with Saban? Is he the right messenger?
