Tennessee took care of business against Mississippi State on Tuesday, winning 68-56.

The Vols really dominated the game from start to finish. At no point did we seriously consider the Bulldogs would get back in it.

State’s coach Chris Jans made some post-game comments that perfectly summed up Tennessee’s defensive prowess.

He also illustrated just how important Zakai Zeigler is for the Vols.

“Zeigler’s the head of the snake,” he said. “And he starts it. But the other guys off the ball are very, very physical and they make it very difficult for you to catch the ball where you want it.

“We knew they were going to be very physical on the ball, off the ball. It’s what Coach Barnes’ teams do,” Jans continued. “And you can talk about it until you’re blue in the face, but … their physicality just … we were bumping off our catches, we weren’t able to catch the ball.”

“Got frustrated with it.”
