Something’s not right if there isn’t at least one SEC football program under the NCAA’s microscope.

But of all the schools that could get busted with any sort of violation, Kentucky may be the last suspect on anyone’s radar.

After all, this isn’t basketball we’re talking about.

The NCAA has a tendency to look into schools when a program is doing unusually well in a sport it normally struggles in.

Such was the case with Kentucky in 2021. Its potent offense guided it to a 10-3 season with a Citrus Bowl victory.

So naturally the NCAA decided to come have a sniff around. Three years later, it announced it had put Kentucky on probation for the use of 11 ineligible players.

The “ineligible” players in question were on the payroll of UK Healthcare but did not work actually log any hours.

Aside from the two years of probation the Wildcats are under, wins from the 2021 season will be vacated. Additionally, the swimming team is under probation for holding unauthorized practices during the pandemic.
