The name “Jahmai Mashack” is hot right now in the state of Tennessee.

The senior basketball Vol hit a buzzer beater from near midcourt on Saturday evening to lift the fifth-ranked Vols past No. 6 Alabama at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Now Mashack is capitalizing on the big performance by helping Second Harvest Food Bank raise some money.

Strike while the iron is hot, they say.

“In honor of the 79 points scored in our epic win,” Mashack said, “…I challenge you to help me raise $7,900 which will provide 23,700 meals to families in East Tennessee! Every dollar helps!”

It should come as no surprise that Vol Nation has already easily reached this goal by donating.

As of this post, $8,179 has been raised with plenty more to come.

From secondharvestetn.org:

A Virtual Food Drive allows you to purchase food for the food bank from wherever you are. Thanks to the partnerships we've developed and connections with wholesale distributors, when you give to Second Harvest Food Bank, your dollar stretches even farther. With 202,560 East Tennesseans currently experiencing hunger in our 18-county service area, your support makes a difference. Together we can Fight Hunger and Feed Hope!

Props to Jahmai Mashack. What a good guy he is.
