It’s A Great Time To Be A Vol

I haven’t written in a while.

There was a football game on last night, and the Eagles were winning 24-0 close to half.

I know this because I checked my phone. I personally could not care less about this Super Bowl.

Looks like the Eagles held on to win 40-22.

How’s life been? Thanks for asking. Getting my Class-A CDL’s, been sick, kids been sick, January was not fun.

The Tennessee Volunteers basketball team has been improving game by game so far though.

Ever since the loss at home to Kentucky, the Vols have been scoring more with Jordan Gainey getting more minutes off the bench.

I like it.

Dismantling of Florida, gritty win against Missouri and a never in doubt road game against Oklahoma, Tennessee is hopefully hitting its stride at the right time.

Right as post-season play is getting ready to begin.

This week we travel to Kentucky to hopefully avenge the loss from earlier in the year.

In a plot twist I wouldn’t have seen coming, Rick Barnes has been considerably more successful in Rupp than at TBA against the Wildcats.

The game between the Vols and the Wildcats is Tuesday and tip-off is set for 7 pm on ESPN.

Afterwards tune in to The Voluntary Reaction, with myself and someone (presumably Jon Reed) when the game goes final.

It will be my last VR of the regular season as the other mid-week games tip-off at 9 pm and ya know, full time job and whatnot.

How about those Lady Vols? They suffered a loss at LSU by 5 points but picked up the win against UCONN inside the Food City Center this past Thursday.

I love coach Kim. I had the Lady Vols game on that Thursday night and my wife said “who do you think is cute, because you never watch women’s basketball.”

That answer was coach Kim. I believe she’s a winner, man.

Add the results from the recruiting trail and the Lady Vols program will be back in its rightful position, atop collegiate women’s basketball.

Tony V starts his season off on Valentine’s Day this week, against Hofstra.

I don’t know anything about Hofstra, and don’t care enough to research it.

Coach Vitello and Frank Anderson will look to get the pitching staff straightened out before league play begins on March 14th against Florida.

It’s a great time to be a Vol.

Well, I hear rapping on the TV upstairs, better go see what that halftime show was all about.

Talk to y’all later.
