Heupel Addresses Crowd Noise Accusations on Jim Rome Show
By Tucker Harlin
It’s the bye week, so naturally an opposing play-by-play broadcaster’s statement in regard to “piped in crowd noise” is the dominant topic of conversation in the Tennessee fan base.
Josh Heupel was sure to address Chris Stewart’s accusation in his Wednesday availability.

The internet has mostly quieted down on the matter, but Heupel had more to say Thursday. The subject was a topic of conversation in Heupel’s interview on the Jim Rome Show.

“I laughed just like I did when you brought that up,” a tickled Josh Heupel said. “There’s some stadiums in America where you need to pipe in noise. Neyland Stadium is not one of those.”
Heupel went out of his way to thank the fans for their efforts on Saturday.
“Our fan base is absolutely electric,” Heupel said. “They show up every single Saturday. We do a walk to the stadium and there’s 30,000 plus there every Saturday. The pageantry here on Rocky Top isn’t surpassed anywhere in sports.”
