Former Vols Coordinator Involved in Handshake Incident
By Tucker Harlin
Jim Harbaugh is smiling at the interaction that took place between Alex Golesh and Tom Herman Friday.
Golesh’s USF Bulls took down Herman’s Florida Atlantic Owls 44-21 in Boca Raton to improve to 4-4. As the clock hit zeroes, the former Tennessee offensive coordinator went to shake the hand of the former Houston and Texas head coach.
Golesh looked at Herman, shook his hand, and continued walking.

As you would expect, Herman didn’t take kindly to this brief and cold interaction.
Herman tracked Golesh down for several yards, but Golesh more or less used blocks from the Florida Atlantic players he was greeting.
Evidently, there was bad blood generated in the meeting between the Bulls and Owls last season. The Bulls went for two up several scores Friday, a response to the onside kick Herman attempted in FAU’s 56-14 win over USF last season.
