Fanrun Fantasy Scoreboard: Week 6
By Tucker Harlin
Week 6 of the Fanrun Fantasy Football Fight is in the books.
Blowouts seemed to be the theme of the week, ranging anywhere from 35 to 81-point margins of victory. However, there was one close battle that was crucial to the top of the league standings.
It’s now clear which two teams are the best in the league, but only one unbeaten remains after six weeks.
Here is a breakdown of the results in Week 6.
TUCKER HARLIN 180.5 vs WILLIAM PATTESON 99.66
It’s safe to say my team had quite the week against Overtime Bill.
Both our quarterbacks played pretty well, but Josh Allen scoring 24 gave me a win over Trevor Lawrence’s 17.
Bill got a tough break with Rhamondre Stevenson missing this week due to injury, starting one-time Vol and fellow Memphis native Eric Gray in his place. Breece Hall and Derrick Henry both had north of 20 points for me
Both of us had nice weeks at receiver, but Chris Godwin’s 35.5 gave me about a 15-point advantage. CeeDee Lamb and Drake London both scored over 16 points for William.
Tight end was my closest victory with Kyle Pitts beating out David Njoku 10-8.1
My wins at flex, defense, and kicker were all decisive. William’s highest scorer of the three was Darnell Mooney with 6.8 while my lowest scorer was Brandon Aubrey at kicker with 12 points.
As for our benches, both our bench tight ends outscored our starters. I’m not starting Noah Fant over Kyle Pitts but I am a little surprised Bill went with Njoku over Evan Engram.
RUSSELL SMITH 106.06 vs MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES 141.38
More Important Issues walked into the Keg of Glory’s house, made a sandwich, and threw the cheese wrapper on the floor.
Both quarterbacks were solid in this matchup, but Issues prevailed with C.J. Stroud’s 18.38.
Running back was where MIssues won the matchup this week. Bijan Robinson hit a season-high of 25.5 while Chuba Hubbard had a complimentary 15.3. For Russell, Jordan Mason left injured with 9.2 while Saquon Barkley had a shockingly bad 7.4.
Russell won by about 15 at receiver. Chris Olave left with a concussion for MIssues, leaving the 14.7 Tee Higgins scored as the highest mark of the day. Zay Flowers hit a season-high of 22.4 for Dubsy.
Both sides had a tremendous week at tight end, but Issues came out on top with a 22.8-17.6 with George Kittle against Trey McBride.
Najee Harris scored a season-high of 20.2 at flex while Russell was rendered James Cook-less on Monday night and had to start Ty Johnson instead.
There was a draw at 14 on defense, and Russ edged out MIssues 14-11 with Austin Seibert at kicker.
Russell’s only bench player to outscore a starter was Cole Kmet’s 24 at tight end, but Trey McBride was supposed to be one of the best fantasy tight ends this year. Issues got 18.2 out of J.K. Dobbins on the bench, which was better than Chuba’s output.
BOB BASKERVILLE 81.72 vs JON REED 123.56
Don’t look now but Jon has won two in a row.
In a tight battle between LSU quarterbacks, Jon won with the 20.96 Jayden Daniels scored against the Ravens. The guy that doesn’t want to draft running backs won by 15 there as both Chase Brown and Bucky Irving had nice weeks while Bob was stuck with 16.6 combined from Josh Jacobs and Javonte Williams.
Jon won by about a touchdown at receiver thanks to the heroics of Garrett Wilson. Bob was hit with a tough blow when Marvin Harrison Jr. left the game Sunday without scoring.
Bob’s win at tight end was a close one, but Sam LaPorta’s 52-yard touchdown catch gave him a season-high 12.2.
It was a horrible week for Bob at flex with Zack Moss scoring .5 while Jon got 19.8 out of Diontae Johnson. The defenses drew at 4 while Jon took a 6-5 victory at kicker.
Baker Mayfield, Keenan Allen, and Tyrone Tracy all had incredible weeks on Bob’s bench. The suspect Mark Andrews was the only player Jon left on his bench who did better than a starter.
TIM HILL 104.5 vs CODY MCCLURE 63.1
The Varsity Athletes put up an atrocious performance while half of Tim’s key players were on bye.
Cody had three wins in the matchup: running back because David Montgomery was head and shoulders above everyone else, Justin Tucker had a slight 13-12 victory at kicker, and the Jets had a 2-1 victory on defense.
Jared Goff doubled up Kirk Cousins, Deebo Samuel alone doubled the output of Cody’s receivers, and Zach Ertz more than double Jake Ferguson at tight end, and Travis Etienne couldn’t even break neutral while Tank Dell scored 18.7.
Rico Dowdle and Tyler Allgeier were considerably better plays on Cody’s bench than Etienne and Jerome Ford, granted both Etienne and Ford left their games with injuries. Jalen Hurts also broke 20 on Cody’s bench.
RYAN BROWN 75.9 vs HOUSTON KRESS 111.8
Houston picked up a much needed win in Week 6.
Both sides had great weekends at quarterback, but the Rumor Mill came out on top with Brock Purdy’s 24.1. Houston also won in a blowout at running back because Joe Mixon was 23 points better than the next best running back in the matchup.
Houston won big at receiver as both Jaxon Smith-Njigba and DeVonta Smith broke double digits while DeAndre Hopkins couldn’t reach 10 and Tre Tucker gave Ryan a donut.
Ryan’s two wins were at flex and tight end. Brock Bowers quadrupled Isaiah Likely while Courtland Sutton narrowly edged Amon-Ra St. Brown by 1.6.
The Rumor Mill won 8-5 on defense and 6--1 at kicker.
Bench receivers were the ones to outscore starters as both Xavier Legette and Josh Downs had productive afternoons for Ryan while Houston got 21.5 out of Gabe Davis and 11.7 from Darius Slayton.
JACE BROWN 104.42 vs SAM BEARD 104.8
This was the only game that came down to the wire in Week 6.
Jace won by a touchdown at quarterback thanks to the 18.92 Lamar Jackson scored.
Runningback was an even battle this week. Sam prevailed as both Alvin Kamara and Tony Pollard hovered around 17 while Jahmyr Gibbs let Jace down with 12.1.
Neither side had a very good week at receiver. Ja’Marr Chase led the way with 12.2, more than both Mike Evans and D.J. Moored combined for Sam.
Sam dominated at flex with the 23.3 Terry McLaurin scored. Jace dominated more at kicker with the 17 Chris Boswell scored to Daniel Carlson’s 1.
Monday night dictated Sam’s wins at tight end defense, to wins that were pivotal in the matchup. Dalton Kincaid scored 11.1 while Dallas Goedert dropped a donut, and the Bears scored 11 on defense while the Bills scored just 4.
Jordan Love, Austin Ekeler, and Tyler Lockett all outscored players Jace started. For Sam, Justin Herbert, Jameson Williams, and Rashid Shaheed all outscored a starter.
