They aren’t going with the classic script here, but the Vols are taking a page out of the baseball team’s book with the font.
Tennessee baseball debuted its take on Dark Mode in the 2022 season for the Kentucky series. The last generation of the Dark Mode baseball jerseys was retired this summer when the program won its first College World Series title.

2009 was the first time a black uniform was brought into existence for the football, basketball, or baseball team. They weren’t called “Dark Mode” as that moniker wasn’t developed until their return in 2021.
They have evolved and added a black helmet into the mix, debuting in their 2022 contest against Kentucky.
