Bruce Pearl Already Making Excuses For Auburn In The Final Four?

Auburn is in the Final Four.
A great accomplishment in any year, of course. We all wish Tennessee was there too.
But based on some of his recent comments, it doesn’t sound like Pearl thinks the talent will be even on the floor.
Trey Wallace of Outkick reported today on some of Pearl’s comments in regard to revenue sharing and what needs to be done in basketball moving forward.
“We do need some guidelines,” Pearl reportedly said. “Because if we want to have a true national champion, then when the ball gets tossed up, we’ve all got to be playing with the same resources and the same rules.”
Is Pearl implying that Auburn has been working at a disadvantage? Have the resources and rules not been the same for the teams in the Final Four?
Resources-wise, Duke did spend a whole lot of money on its NBA roster, which not every school has the capability to do.
So is Pearl talking about Duke here? Perhaps he’s just letting everyone know his hope for the future.
Not sure what, if anything, Pearl is referring to when it comes to playing with the same rules.
If Auburn is to win a national championship it will most likely have to go through the two best teams left in the NCAA Tournament — Florida and Duke.
