Props to Arkansas athletic director Hunter Yurachek for his strong statement on NIL today.
Yurachek released a statement Tuesday in support of Razorbacks collectives who have potentially been screwed over by athletes who collect a bunch of money and then suddenly decide to leave.
These guys leave, seemingly out of nowhere. “Leavas,” you might call them.
The timing makes sense.
Madden Iamaleava, who was turning heads during spring practice at Arkansas and potentially positioning himself to compete for the starting job, suddenly changed course and bolted on his team to follow older brother Nico to UCLA.
It’s just the latest move orchestrated by the possibly greedy Iamaleava family that clearly allegedly doesn’t care who they affect with their decisions to simply maybe just acquire the biggest bag possible.
"I have spoken with the leadership team at Arkansas Edge and expressed my support in their pursuit to enforce their rights under any agreement violated by our student-athletes moving forward," Yurachek said. "We appreciate Edge's investment in our student-athletes and acknowledge the enforcement of these agreements is vital in our new world of college athletics.
"We look forward to continued dialogue with all parties resolving these matters."
