Smart Home Fix Lock of the Week:
Florida -10.5 vs. UAB
I am aware how opposite these programs are trending at the moment. And that Florida probably has no way of focusing this week with Chip Kelly’s impending arrival. But think about the talent discrepancy in a program that’s made two straight SEC championships and a program that did not play football last year.
UAB might actually be the best story in college football nobody’s discussing. But Florida owns too much raw talent.

Arkansas +12 vs. Mississippi State
Mississippi State could’ve saved Dan Mullen’s job (should he want that to happen,) and successfully boosted its team perception last week. To be fair, the program has given Alabama fits here and there. And then fallen off the next week…
West Virginia -3.5 vs. Texas
Actually a fascinating story with Texas. Remember, they started the season with a loss to Maryland at home. They keep battling to 5-5 and are in danger of missing a bowl game. For years, this has been the story, “when will Texas return?!” But this year not so much because they have a first-year coach and the Big 12 is more preoccupied with TCU, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
More undervalued because of the conference triumverate is West Virginia. Dana Holgorsen should be on more coaching lists…
Vanderbilt +8.5 vs. Missouri
This seems silly, right? Vandy with no home field advantage at all and Mizzou’s high-scoring offense? When the spread makes no sense, take the spread.
Who Cares? We’re Rich!
Indiana -11 vs. Rutgers
Clunker of a football game! Classic noon B1G kickoff where it’ll be 29 degrees and the huge flag will cover 30% of the football field in Bloomington. Indiana still owns much of the identity it used to push Ohio State in week one. They’ll exploit Rutgers.
Duke +6.5 vs. Georgia Tech
Tough matchup. Georgia Tech has been excellent at playing its game all season. Control the clock, make smart decisions. Stout defense. But Duke’s teams get better as the season goes on. They are even better coached and receptive, smart ballplayers.
Beating Georgia Tech comes down to executing the gameplan (what’s up, Butch). If there’s a coaching staff and team that can pull it off, Duke might be the one.
Fresno State -1.5 @ Wyoming
Line has flipped. Smart money follows smart money.
