The SEC Power Rankings for Week 5 are here. I don’t feel pain anymore when it comes to the Vols.
I am just numb.
Some notes from the weekend
The Vols continue to find new levels of disappointment.
Waddle is a big loss for the Tide
Once again, Malzahn and the War Tiger Eagles need to slip a little extra in their card to the SEC Officiating Office.
LSU seems to have found their groove.
Here are the SEC Power Rankings for Week 5
1. Alabama Crimson Tide
The SEC is Alabama and everyone else.
We were wrong to ever doubt their strength and dominance.
I pray that Saban and the boys will have forgiveness and mercy and not curse my already pitiful existence.
Mac Jones and Najee Harris are absolutely ridiculous.
Waddle is, however, a huge loss.
Prayers going up for a speedy recovery for him.
2. Georgia Bulldogs
3. Texas A&M Aggies
4. Florida Gators
Out for Covid.
5. Arkansas Razorbacks
6. LSU Bayou Bengals
Coach O and the rest of the coaching staff took advantage of the early bye-week to right the ship.
Yes, it was just against S.C., but the Tigers to this point had been very lack-luster.
The offense was firing on all cylinders, and the defense seemed to have found the fire we expect from a Bayou Bengal defense.
It will be interesting to see if this play sticks or if it was an aberration.
7. Auburn Tigers
The main reason I hate Auburn is the obvious bias.
They seem to always be on the right end of absolute garbage calls.
The SEC Officiating office needs to be investigated at this point.
Malzahn still loses his job by the end of the year.
8. Missouri Tigers
Mizzou got the job against Kentucky.
One has to think they took advantage of the Wildcats suffering from the “big win hangover.”
Bazelak continues to be the QB of the future for the Tigers.
Only time will tell if Eli Drinkwitz can bring Mizzou back to some sort of relevance.
9. Kentucky Wildcats
Kentucky gonna Kentucky.
Coming off of arguably a top-5 win in their program history, the Wildcats fell flat on their faces.
The Wildcat offense had zero answers on how to combat a very mediocre Mizzou defense.
Which angers me even more, considering the Vols handled Mizzou pretty easily.
Whatever, I’m not bitter. You’re bitter.
10. Tennessee Volunteers
I would encourage everyone to read my Vols Stock Report to get a good beat on my feelings here.
This team is very uninspiring.
They are undisciplined.
The Vols don’t appear to have any sort of motivation.
11. Ole Miss Rebel Sharks
That’s really all I have to say.
However, Matt Corral has been horrendous as of late.
Check out The Cover Zero Podcast to hear my comparison of his play as of late.
I understand it’s year one for Lane Kiffin, but he has some major work ahead of him to get the Ole Miss defense up to snuff.
12. South Carolina Fighting Chickens
What goes up, must come down.
Will Muschamp’s defense got absolutely shredded by the LSU offense, led by true-freshman T.J. Finley.
The Chickens offense was completely stymied all night long.
Once again, we return to Muschamp, robbing Ray Tanner and the tax payers of South Carolina blind.
13. Mississippi State Bulldogs
14. Vanderbilt Commodores
Still going 0-10.
