One of the biggest storylines of the 2018 NFL Draft was where Shaquem Griffin would be drafted.
Griffin helped lead Central Florida to an undefeated season and a national championship in 2017. He also has one hand.
Griffin’s NFL prospects became a real topic of conversation during the draft combine when he ran a record 4.38 40-yard dash, the fastest for a linebacker in combine history. People began debating his draft stock. Where would he go?
When it came time for the fifth round, Shaquem got the call from Seattle.

Getting drafted by the Seahawks means that Shaquem will be reunited with his twin brother Shaquill, who turned down major Division 1 offers to schools such as Florida and Florida State because they hadn’t offered his brother.
Shaquill plays cornerback for Seattle. It’s not clear what type of role Shaquem will have. One would think he would get his first opportunities as a pass rush specialist and a special teams player.
Either way, Shaquem Griffin is getting an opportunity to play football, and that’s all he’s ever wanted.
