Basketball fever is about to pickup, with Tennessee hosting in-state foe Memphis on Saturday afternoon in Knoxville.
Rick Barnes met with the media on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the upcoming game, how this team is preparing, his thoughts on Penny Hardaway and more.
Barnes was very complimentary of the Tigers, especially how they are coached. If you were looking for Barnes to come out with harsh words towards Hardaway, you weren’t getting that, which was expected.
Barnes also discussed the scheduling of games, which he pointed out that there are many great teams in the state of Tennessee and they cant play them all. Though I have a feeling the Memphis game won’t be gone for long after next years matchup in Nashville, it just makes to much sense to keep playing. I think in the end, it could be beneficial to both teams.
Lamonte Turner’s shoulder was brought up during the session, with Barnes saying he will continue to battle though, in working to get everything right.
An excited fanbase awaits this game on Saturday, with a sold out TBA ready to rattle the Tigers
Get ready, Memphis and Penny are coming to town.
