Live NFL And College Football Games Coming To FOX Sports Knoxville

FOX Sports Knoxville is now Knoxville’s exclusive radio home for NFL primetime football, the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl LII. The biggest games throughout the NFL season will air live on WKGN-AM 1340 and FM 101.5. Through the deal brokered this month between Westwood One and FOX Sports Knoxville, WKGN will broadcast every primetime game, including the home state Tennessee Titans. The deal also includes Sunday afternoon games throughout the NFL season and a slate of the biggest college football games from Power 5 conferences this fall.

“Live game broadcasts on our network is just the next step in providing Knoxville fans the sports content they deserve 247,” said General Manager Nate Hodges. “The Knoxville market is one of the best across the board for NFL and college football games. FOX Sports Knoxville will now have more hours of live football games than any Knoxville network to go along with our market leading 14 hours of daily programming from the state of Tennessee.”

NFL games start with the Thursday Night Football season-opener, when the Eric Berry led Kansas City Chiefs head to Foxboro to take on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. On Sunday, the debut of Football Night in America, Eli Manning and the New York Giants meet Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys in a traditional NFC East Rivalry. Monday Night Football begins with a double header before settling in to the regular schedule for the rest of the year.

In December, once the college football regular season ends, some NFL games shift to Saturday. WKGN will broadcast those late season matchups. In January, WKGN will also be the exclusive home of the NFL playoffs, culminating with the Super Bowl on February 4th.

The college schedule is more variable due to each week’s timing. FOX Sports Knoxville has already locked in LSU vs BYU and Texas A&M at UCLA on opening weekend when the Tennessee Volunteers open on Monday Night. The rest of the schedule will be flexed into as season game times are announced. Other game options include Clemson at Florida State, Ohio State at Michigan and The SEC Championship. All games with the exception of Army vs Navy are from Power 5 conferences.
