Kwe Parker leaving Tennessee basketball

Parker leaves Tennessee, opens up a spot for…someone?

Per VolQuest’s Rob Lewis, Kwe Parker is leaving Rick Barnes and the Tennessee Volunteers this offseason. His release from the program has been granted. Parker didn’t play much, but seemed to be noted on every single broadcast as a guy who could jump very well.

The loss of Parker is nothing major for Tennessee. In 25 games, he scored 24 points and shot 32.3% from the field (10 of 31). In terms of Player Efficiency Rating, Parker had by far the worst rating on the team at 0.4 (next lowest: Lew Evans, 9.5). Parker averaged around eight minutes per game in games he appeared in.

Tennessee now has an open scholarship that can either be used for this class or for the 2018 class, depending on Barnes’ desires.
