Before the Tennessee football team hit the practice field on Wednesday, a few of the Vols met with the media to discuss Fall Camp 2020.
SR DL Matthew Butler was asked what it has been like with the schedule switched up “We’re a whole month away from the season, but we’re going into the 6th practice. It’s definitely not normal. Thankful its been afforded to us”
Butler was asked about setting the right example and being a leader during these Covid times “We just make sure to wear our masks, having your mask on in the facility is just a good example. Doing everything we can to stay healthy. If you do go out, have your mask on, don’t be around folks who aren’t doing those things.”
When asked about the new NCAA ruling on blanket waivers this season “I haven’t thought about it too much, we’re taking things day by day. Gradually getting better and getting ready for South Carolina prep.”
Butler talked about where this team can improve from last season ” We can improve on consistency for an entire game and season.”
Tennessee SR WR Josh Palmer also met with the media on Wednesday, discussing Fall Camp 2020 and much more.
When speaking about playing in front of much smaller crowds this season, at home and away “Coming from Canada, I didn’t play in front of a lot of people in HS games. so if it’s in front of 0 people or a lot of people, it really doesn’t matter.”
Tennessee student athletes are also scheduled to participate in a “March On UT Knoxvile”
As Palmer described, “We wanted to keep pressing the situation. Coach Pruitt is moving the practice around so we can attend the march this Saturday, expressing the value of human life.”
We will have practice footage later today, so follow Fox Sports Knoxville
