Jauan Jennings Headed To The Bay Area as the 217th pick

Jauan Jennings

Tennessee wide receiver Jauan Jennings finally heard his name called during the 2020 NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon.

After waiting over two days, it looked like his chances were slowly fading away, as each pick came in.

Then in the 7th round, it was time for a celebration with friends and family.

With the 217th pick in the 7th round, the San Francisco 49ers drafted the fan-favorite from Tennessee.

Jennings, who participated in the 2020 Senior Bowl this past January, proved enough to most that his toughness and blocking ability was an added bonus.

There’s no question Jauan will have success going one on one in the air against defenders, as he’s proved countless times in Knoxville.

The joy that came from him during a video he posted to Instagram while embracing his mother was the cherry on top for the fans, coaches, and family members that have stuck by his side through it all.

There is no doubt that Jennings will carry a chip on his shoulder. He was passed over by so many teams during most of the draft. But you won’t notice it, that’s not who he is. Jauan enjoys the contact, the blocking, and especially those passes that come across the middle.

I can promise you this, 49ers fans will fall in love with Jauan Jennings, the same way Vols fans will continue to cherish #15.

Also, I’d expect a good amount of apparel sales to come from the State of Tennessee. Jennings will do whatever it takes to get on the field, and I’d expect nothing less.

This will be one to keep your eye on; I know I will.
