Tennessee DL Emmit Gooden has been dismissed from the football team after he was arrested Thursday for felony aggravated domestic assault.
According to the report, around 7:30 Thursday morning, the victim stated her and boyfriend Gooden had been in an argument and that Gooden had struck her on the left side of her head with a glass candle jar.
The victim suffered lacerations on her left eyebrow and the corner of her left eye, which needed sutures at the UT Medical Center, according to the report.
There is a witness to assault according to arrest records obtained. Gooden was arrested Thursday and has a $10,000 bond.
Emmit was coming off a torn ACL he suffered before the 2019 season and was penciled in to be a key contributor for Tennessee this upcoming season.
Jeremy Pruitt was swift in action, dismissing Gooden from the team on Thursday after learning details of the incident.
