College Football Is Finally Back And For That We Are Thankful

College football

Folks, the time has finally arrived.

I still can’t believe I am typing this, but college football is officially back.

For many football fans like me, this still does not seem real considering everything in the last five months. 2020 has been a year that none of us will ever forget.

A global pandemic that has put everything on hold across the world and the United States.

At one point, it looked like the college football season would be canceled.

Various football conferences announced in early August that there would cancel their football seasons.

It started with the MAC conference on August 8th. Shortly after, the Mountain West Conference announced they were canceling too.

But the news that had the football season in jeopardy was when the Big Ten and Pac-12 canceled their seasons on August 12th.

For a moment, it seemed all hope was lost of a college football season happening.

I had my doubts about the SEC and other conferences continuing with the season.

But despite these conferences canceling, football is still happening.

The first college football game of the year is tonight at 9 pm on ESPN between Austin Peay State and Central Arkansas.

I will be quite honest with you. Never in a million years, I thought I would be fired up about this matchup, but I am.

So this is too all the football and sports fans out there.

Get your gameday fix in. Order some wings and nachos. Drink a few cold ones.

Soak it in.

Despite everything that has happened this year, football is still happening.

So enjoy the first game of the season tonight.

Because College Football is officially back.
