Tennessee vs. Vanderbilt game has been postponed.
The postponement of the game isn’t all that bad for the Vols, sources tell us that they are currently dealing with some Covid issues themselves. Tennessee has a number of players in contact tracing at the moment, but would’ve been able to play the game on Saturday.
The fact that Arkansas is also dealing with Covid issues, this gave the SEC an opportunity to move some games around.
The Vols returned from Auburn on Sunday morning and did not hold practice. Jeremy Pruitt said earlier in his press conference that he wanted to wait on the results before practicing.
“Well, one of the reasons we didn’t practice yesterday, just if you look within our conference, it seems like some of the teams that have traveled the week before (have had COVID issues). We’ve been fortunate this year, but just from a precautionary standpoint, we didn’t practice yesterday to get this testing back today. It’s still coming in. So, as we get the final results, we’ll have a little better idea this afternoon.”
The SEC put out a statement just minutes ago.
“The Tennessee at Vanderbilt game is postponed for the purpose of facilitating the rescheduling of the Vanderbilt at Missouri game. This rescheduling of games allows for the continued opportunity for all 14 teams to play all of its 10 games in the 2020 season.”

Commissioner Greg Sankey also released a statement about the rescheduling of games.
“As we continue to adapt to the current realities, it important to remain flexible as we move forward in the final weeks of the season,” said SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey. “Contact tracing continues to be the biggest contributing factor to game interruptions. We will continue to manage the remaining weeks of the football schedule to allow for as many games to be played as possible.”
