CBS Sports’ Barrett Sallee has tabbed the Vols for their first nine-win regular season since 2007. Predicting the Vols to have nine regular season wins means a victory over one of Tennessee’s “Big 4” opponents in either Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, or Alabama.
The question still remains, “Which game do we win?”

According to Sallee’s article, he forecasts the Vols to knock off the Florida Gators on Sept. 26 in Knoxville.
This match-up will likely be the host of College GameDay, considering the weak slate of games for that particular weekend. If this is to happen, Knoxville will host Lee Corso & Co. for the first time since Sept. 24, 2016 against. . .you guessed it, the Florida Gators.
Fox Sports Knoxville’s own Davey Hudson posed his own question in reply to Sallee’s rankings.
Which would you sign up for?

The poll currently sits at 62.8 percent in favor of locking in a 9-3 Vols season.
As for the rest of Sallee’s article, he has predicted the Vols to lose on the road at Oklahoma and Georgia with a home loss against Alabama.
While dropping a game against Georgia in November with the SEC East on the line will be disappointing in this scenario, I personally believe most Vol fans will be happy with Tennessee merely winning the games they’re supposed to win.
Barrett Sallee went more in-depth when he joined Fox Sports Knoxville’s “The Drive” this afternoon.

While on “The Drive,” Sallee explained that he believes Tennessee’s biggest strength will be their experience through their plethora of returning starters.
This heightened level of experience will most definitely be an asset when the younger Gators roll into a (hopefully) rocking Neyland Stadium this fall.
For Tennessee’s sake, let’s hope lightning strikes twice to put another late September win in the record books.
