The most important thing for Vol fans looking forward to remember is that this doesn’t mean The Admiral is officially done in Knoxville. Schofield likely won’t even leave his name in the draft if his evaluations don’t stack up to his hopes, which might be the case with a year of eligibility left. That means he could still be in the lineup for Tennessee next year.
Being drafted a year early would come as a bit of a surprise. Even though Schofield is an all-conference player who averaged 14 points, almost seven rebounds and a couple of assists per game, he doesn’t show up on many mock drafts.
He’s a physical player who can spread the floor and is a difficult matchup for most college teams, so it’ll be nice for Schofield to hear some evaluations and get a feel for what he might lack to make the next step in his career. If he returns to Rocky Top, he could be the key to Tennessee making a deeper run in next year’s NCAA Tournament. In two tournament games this season, Schofield put up 29 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and added an assist. He’s growing at the right time and has a bunch of upside.
Tennessee fans had mixed reactions about the possibility of The Admiral’s departure, but with mostly good intentions.
Let’s go Scho! ♠️

If you have a chance follow your dreams @admiralelite15. But selfishly I hope you come back. You and @RonSlay35 are my favorite two Vols ever because of the passion you play with. You're the heart of our team and we want you back for another run 💯🙌😎💪
