KNOXVILLE – After dropping two of three on the road at Kentucky, Tennessee baseball enters its final regular season home series of the year as the Vols host No. 4 Texas for a three-game set beginning Friday night.
Right-hander Tegan Kuhns gets the start tonight after a difficult outing in Lexington where the sophomore allowed 10 hits and 6 earned runs across 6 innings with 7 strikeouts in a 9-2 loss. Texas counters with sophomore left-hander Dylan Volantis, who brings a 7-0 record and a 1.87 ERA into the matchup across 62.2 innings pitched, giving Tennessee hitters one of their toughest assignments of the season.
Texas has dropped only one conference series this year, falling twice at Texas A&M and is projected as the No. 3 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament by D1Baseball while the Vols are projected in the Atlanta Regional, paired with No. 2 Georgia Tech.
First pitch tonight is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network Plus.
